It’s Monday! What Are You Reading? is hosted by Sheila @ Book Journey.
Bloggish Business:
You guys! I’m already having the best time reading in 2013! I’m on an absolute tear, just readin’ up all the books I can get my greedy little hands on.
I’ve set a Goodreads goal of 125 books for this year. I’ve also made this pledge on The Savvy Reader. I like these “challenges” because I don’t have to think about them. I just read. Big whoop. I’d be doing that anyway.
One of the coolest ideas ever is to map your reading. <~~ Seriously, you want to check that out.
Reviews:
Parlor Games by Maryka Biaggio
Angela’s Ashes by Frank McCourt
Breakfast at Tiffany’s by Truman Capote
Read:
The Love Song of Jonny Valentine by Teddy Wayne
Much Ado About Loving by Jack Murnighan and Maura Kelly
Astray by Emma Donoghue
(Reviews coming soon!)
Currently Reading:
Thomas Jefferson: The Art of Power by Jon Meacham
Upcoming:
I don’t know! I’ve been letting my moods and whims pick what I read. It’s FABULOUS.

I am looking forward to hearing your thoughts on the Jefferson book. I am just finishing up American Sphinx by Joseph Elli. Jefferson was such a fascinating character! I really want to read this one too. I like John Meacham as a political commentator and this one sounds really good.

It sounds like you're having a great time, and the fact you're getting through lots of books… reading completely by whim is very tempting. Looking forward to reading your review of the Jefferson.

I remember when I did that…and this year, I'm moving beyond accepting a lot of reviews to reading what I love and exploring new ones at my whim. Here's MY MONDAY MEMES POST

Heh.. looks like I need to check out that challenge.. the only challenges I can handle are the ones where I am just required to read. I tried to the Hist Fic Challenge, an even though I read like 80 of those in a year, I can't find the time to link up. Le sigh.

That's a good goal! Maybe I'll check out that challenge too. The book on Jefferson looks quite interesting.

Awesome, keep it up! Trusting your gut is the best method for choosing what to read next 🙂 I'm doing the three challenges, but just picking whatever I feel like for them, so I'm alternating between them. I just signed up for the 50 Book Pledge too, and will read whatever I want outside the challenges, too. Why not!? The Jefferson book looks really interesting!

You are doing a fantastic job! You've read twice as many books as me so far in 2013 (sticks out tongue at you). I can't wait to read your thoughts on Astray. I've only read Room so far, but I hear great things about Donoghue's other works.
