It’s Monday! What Are You Reading? 10/08/12

It’s Monday! What Are You Reading? is hosted by Sheila at Book Journey, check it out and join in the fun! This is a great way to plan out your reading week and see what others are currently reading as well… you never know where that next “must read” book will come from!

I’ve had a productive blogging week. You know, I never realize that until it’s time to put my Monday post together. So, there’s another reason I love this meme. It’s like a pat on the back. Of course there are those cruddy weeks…but let’s not talk about those! Here’s what I’ve been up to:
Reviewed:
Dancing to the Flute by Manisha Jolie Amin

Flowers for Algernon by Daniel Keyes

Flight Behavior by Barbara Kingsolver

I celebrated Banned Books Week by reading and reviewing Are You There God? It’s Me, Margaret by Judy Blume. It took me right back to childhood and I loved it!

My 12 year old daughter reviewed Summer of the Monkeys by Wilson Rawls. She’s an awesome kid, if I do say so myself.

Read:
The Lotus Eaters by Tatjana Soli

The Cutting Season by Attica Locke

Current and Upcoming Reads:

I’m in the middle of Robert Goolrick’s Heading out to Wonderful right now. You know what? It really is wonderful..ha ha. Seriously though, I’m enjoying it!

I have a stack of 4 or 5 books waiting for me at the library including The Forgetting Tree by Tatjana Soli and Blankets by Craig Thompson.

On the Blog:
I did a bit of whining about my blog pet peeves. Cathartic!

Have a fab week ya’ll!

  2. Every so often I'll get a comment saying something like, \”Wow, you had a really productive week\” or whatever and I'll think to myself, \”Did I?\” It's only until I scroll down and look at what I've done that I'll say, \”Oh, wow, I did.\” I think that having a blogging calendar (which was a tip that I picked up from one of the links you posted from Bloggiesta) has kept things simpler and more organized, so I've been able to be more productive lately. I always feel like I could be doing more, though. Maybe it's just my inner over-achiever talking. You certainly had a productive week. I think I could have read much more if I hadn't decided to read A Prayer for Owen Meany, which I'm still not halfway through. I don't want to give up on it, but I also want to read other things this week. Maybe I'll read it in between other books, just so that I have some review content this week. Maybe I should also stop thinking aloud on your blog. LOL

  3. I am definitely going to read Heading Out to Wonderful. I am in full on Halloween mode right now, but it sounds like a wonderful book for November. :)I am looking forward to your review of The Cutting Season. I have been thinking about reading it, but I can't make up my mind.

  4. I haven't re-read Flowers for Algernon since I first read it in middle school. I should read it again to see if it makes as powerful impression on me now as it did then.
