24 Hour Read-a-Thon

Hey, remember when I said that I wasn’t going to join in any more challenges or events for the rest of this year? Ha ha HA! Oh aren’t I such a silly girl? Did I think I could really pass up a challenge like Dewey’s 24 Hour Read-a-Thon? Bitch, please. I’m weak.

24 Hours of Reading Goodness? Sign me up!<~~~Click there!

In my defense this event is kinda a big deal. It started in 2007 with 37 participants. Now? It’s a must for any serious reader! (I made that part up. Seriously though, there are hundreds of book bloggers participating. There is even a German version! A French version!)

Have you signed up? WHY NOT?

  1. I am so flarking jealous of everyone who is doing this. I have to work part of the day on Saturday, not to mention my toddler running around…I think my days of 24-hour-availability are over for a while!! Have fun though, can't wait to hear about it!!

  2. Ah yes, I remember those days well Kelly. I miss them. Once in a while 😉 I think you can sign up to do as much or as little as you want though…there's a bit of peer pressure for you. All the cool kids are doing it! ha ha

  3. It is a big deal. All of the cool kids are doing it, which of course means that you and I will be in attendance. Now if I can only clear a few other things off of my calendar for that day…

  4. As soon as I saw your tweet about this, I hit the link and signed up. I'd actually not heard of this before. And it's THIS Saturday. So, I don't think I'll be able to do the full 24 hours… however, I will have quite a bit of my day free and plan to read, read, read. I do have to stop shortly, of course, to go to a library book sale 😉 I would love to read 500-750+ pages. And books that have been sitting on my bookshelf from the library would be PERFECT. Thanks for bringing this one to my attention!

  5. I was really hoping to sign up. You make such a convincing case. I ended up sick and in bed all weekend (sleeping mostly, but quite a bit of reading too) and my husband had to take care of the kids. I just can't bring myself to ask him to do it again. Sigh. Maybe in April.

  6. I don't have my complete stack ready yet. I have a few though. I want to shake it up and have different genres and shorter reads so I don't burn out. Also I might throw a few magazines on the pile for a brain cleanser in between. I'm so excited!
