The Relentless Weekly – Oct. 23, 2020

Welcome to Friday, and welcome to another weekly update. Here’s what I’ve been up to:

Reading: This week I finished The Exiles by Christina Baker Kline and The Splendid and the Vile by Erik Larson.

Cooking: I whipped up this chicken fajita casserole this week. Cheesy, quick, and low-carb, yum!

Listening: Fruit of the Drunken Tree by Ingrid Rojas Contreras is my current listen. Look at that gorgeous cover — zowie.

Watching: Aren’t you so glad that The Great British Bake Off is back on Netflix? What a sweet palate cleanser it is. My only complaint is that this show makes me crave cake constantly! An episode drops every Friday morning, so I know what I’ll be watching later today!

Voting: We mailed in our ballots late last week. Hooray! I keep reading statistics about how many millions of people have already voted — amazing. I did watch the final debate last night. It was less awful than the first, but I wouldn’t call it a pleasant evening of television.

Snowing: Yup. We had a wintery storm here in Wisconsin over the last couple of days. It’s only October, but it’s time to start swiping my husband’s warm socks. I know that some of you are still suffering from extreme heat and probably can’t imagine.

I hope your week has been lovely, and that you’ll tell me all about it. Have a phenomenal weekend as well!

  1. How did you like The Splendid and the Vile? I really enjoyed all the little personal details of Churchill’s life 🙂

And I’m definitely loving having The Great British Baking Show back, but my husband has also found that it makes him crave pastries.
