It’s already Monday? Are weekends slipping by faster than usual or is there a time suck that happens right before the holidays? Either way, Monday is here!
Here’s whats been happening in my neck of the woods:
Read:Β
This week I read The Secret Chord by Geraldine Brooks and Liar, Temptress, Soldier, Spy by Karen Abbott. (You can see my review of The Secret Chord here.)
Currently Reading:
It was time for something seasonal so I ordered myself a copy of A Boy Called Christmas by Matt Haig. I started reading it last night and promptly gobbled up around half. I’d say it’s aimed at middle grades ( I’m middle graded at heart!). It’s plucking at the heartstrings and making me laugh and making me feel the spirit. That’s a tall order!
Upcoming:
I’m not sure! Now that I’m finally back in the reading saddle there are around 8,000 books vying for my attention. We’ll see what kind of mood I’m in when it’s time to grab one off of them off the shelf.
What have you been reading this week?
I've been thinking about grabbing a Christmas book. Maybe I will see what is around when I go to the library later today…I'm so glad you read Liar, Temptress, Soldier, Spy. What a great book!

I usually don't read seasonal books like that but something made me pick this one up. Maybe it was seeing it all over Twitter? (Proof that blog marketing WORKS, lol.)

I started reading Liar, Temptress, Soldier, Spy. The descriptions of war were a little gory for me, but I the stories are so fascinating.

I was so enthralled with that book that I hardly noticed the gore π Well, I did, but I found them a natural part of (any) war story.

Honestly I thought I was the same! This might be the very first time I've even tried? Normally I'm growling at people who dare play too much Christmas music, ha!

I like that it's definitely for kids, but it doesn't have the cloying, totally feel good thing going on. I think you'll dig it.
