Blogging:
Here’s my wrap-up for the month of February. It was a month of excellent reads. I ended up finishing 9 books and I was pleased with every one. (Some more than others, of course!)
There are a few hours left to enter the giveaway for a copy of Ben Ambridge’s Psy-Q. The book is a collection of quizzes, experiments, and interactive exercises. Fun and free, can’t beat that.
Reading:
I finished That’s Not English. It was so much fun to read and I can’t wait to tell you more about it! I’m currently re-reading Pet Sematary. The last time I cracked that one open I was in 7th or 8th grade. It’s King at his best and it’s great to read along with others.
Cooking:
This was a week of old favorites and take-out. I did make this Cheesy Vegetarian Brown Rice Casserole with Broccoli & Mushrooms. BUT I have to tell you that I added extra cheese and used beef broth instead of veggie broth. So it wasn’t exactly vegetarian and it wasn’t exactly healthy, but it was delicious.

Watching:
I gobbled up season 3 of House of Cards. I’m not sure what to think about this season. The show seems to have lost its way a little. It’s still slick and dangerous and gorgeous but the characters seem to be not quite themselves anymore? Still, I’ll be looking forward to season 4. I can’t get enough of Frank Underwood.
I’m definitely going to give The Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt (Netflix) a try. Created/written by Tina Fey, starring Ellie Kemper? I’m so there.
Updating:
My mammogram came back. All is well in boobland! Hooray! Go get ’em squished, ladies.

Leah, from Books Speak Volumes, has listed 5 upcoming books that aren’t to be missed. (I can personally vouch for Hausfrau and That’s Not English. They are both fab.)
What’s up in your neck of the woods? Tell me what you’re reading, watching, loving!
We just finished up Season 3 last night and I'm feeling the same…I'm not quite sure where it's going, but I think I felt the same after Season 2. Maybe it's just that I'm watching so many other shows I enjoy so much more? I'm not quite sure.

Congrats on your mammogram! I got one about 6 months ago 🙂 And I'll be reading Hausfrau soon…looking forward to it.

I think I read Pet Sematary about that age too. I read a lot of King back then. I think Night Shift might have been my first.I didn't know about The Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt but now will have to look for that. You are such an enabler :P.

Yep, can't quite put my finger on it. Now that he has what he wants he seems to be…lost? I don't know. But like I said, I'll totally watch the next season. I do love his character, and Robin Wright too of course. She's fab.

Thank you, thank you! It was my first one. I was nervous but it was easy peasy 😀 I hope you love Hausfrau as much as I did.

I read so much King at that age, oh my word. He's the reason why I hate clowns and why I'm deeply suspicious of St. Bernards, lol. Oooh, it's so cute, Bryan! I watched a couple episodes yesterday. You can tell it's going to be great fun once it really his it's stride.

I'm way behind. Just beginning to think about season one of House of Cards because everybody's talking about it. Maybe this week. Read some King back in the day but haven't read or reread any for a while.

It's so fun to re-read books that you loved as a kid. I haven't read any King yet (eek!) but it's nice to curl up with a book sometimes when you already know what will happen. :)I'm looking forward to watching Kimmy Schmidt too. It looks great!

One of my pet peeves with tv shows is the strange shift in character personality that seems to happen a few seasons in. Drives me freaking nuts and happens all the time.

Yeah, what IS that? I like a good character arc, I do understand that people grow/change. But sometimes they assassinate a character with weirdness. Hmph.

Kimmy Schmidt is funny as hell, that's no lie. If you liked 30 Rock even a smidge you'll love this one. Ellie Kemper is one of the funniest darn people out there.

It totally snuck (not a word) up on me, I don't think I'd even heard of it until the day it was up on Netflix, lol. It's a total hoot!
