The Relentless Wrap-Up 08/11/13

Reviews:

The Perfume Collector by Kathleen Tessaro

Whistling Past the Graveyard by Susan Crandall

The Wicked Girls by Alex Marwood

Read:

Pastrix by Nadia Bolz-Weber

Let Him Go by Larry Watson

Little Century by Anna Keesey

The Kings and Queens of Roam by Daniel Wallace

Abandoned:

Crazy Rich by Jerry Oppenheimer ~ I really wanted to like this one (of course) but it was reading like an article in The Enquirer. Gossip without substance. But if I’m in the mood for something along those lines I might pick it up again. Maybe?

Currently Reading:

Son of a Gun by Justin St. Germain

Upcoming:

Cartwheel by Jennifer duBois

  3. CAN'T WAIT to hear your thoughts on Pastrix! I love her.She blogs over at patheos.com and posts her sermons there as well, if you're wanting more. And remember the sermon after the Aurora shooting? That's on there, too (search for \”defiant alleluias\”).

  5. You ARE taking over the internet! I see the enthusiasm you share with that gif but question any evil intent. (and I say it with a hard g, too.)

  6. I just put The Perfume Collector on hold at our local library; totally amazed they even have it! Good for you for giving up on a book which disappointed you. It's taken me years to learn that necessary skill.

  7. Wonderful, I hope you like it! When I was younger I thought it was a personal failing if I didn't finish every book I started. How ridiculous is that? Now I know better. If something isn't speaking to me I set it aside. There are too many great books out there to waste time on the less than wonderful.

  8. I for one, bow to our new internet overlord. Overlady? Supreme Duchess of Awesomeness? You're going to have to choose a title before you get too far into the takeover, okay?
