It’s Monday! What Are You Reading? is hosted by Sheila @ Book Journey
I love this meme, it inspires me to be a bit more organized than usual!

Hello relentless readers! I hope you had a glorious week of reading.

I’ve finally done it. I’ve ordered a Kindle. This will be my very first e-reader. I kept it old school for a long while. I don’t know how I feel about this turn of events quite yet. I almost feel guilty. Is that weird? So, I’ll see how it goes and keep you updated.

This was a good, if slower, week of reading for me.

  1. Hope you enjoy your Kindle!! I use mine a lot but still read a lot of books old school. It is great though for when you finish a book and need the sequel right then and there! No waiting!!

  2. Friends love! I hope you enjoy your relationship with the kindle. I tried not to embrace technology but my first choice is reading on my ipad. HA! I think last week was national no technology day… how would we read that day? Have a great week!

  3. Welcome to the wonderful world of e-readers! I've had two different Nooks and now an iPad. I love reading on them. It is such a different experience, but I love the fact that I can read anywhere and even in the dark. Enjoy!

  4. I haven't got a Kindle, but when I use my ereader I feel bad, too. But there's a good balance to be had 🙂 Always loved the cover of Moloka'i but never actually found out what it was about.

  5. One undeniable truth is you can read faster on a Kindle. For this reason alone I know you will love it. Congratulations on your Kindle! 🙂 Did you get a Fire? If so you will probably spend more time reading things like Angry Birds at first… LOL. But then you will see you can read more by using the Kindle. 😉

  6. I was adamant about never owning a Kindle, once upon a time….now I love mine. It will never replace treebooks for me, but it's a nice thing to have. I use mine for about 1/4 to 1/3 of my reading. It's wonderful for traveling.

  7. I was the same, until I received my Kindle as a birthday present… And I haven't looked back! It comes in very handy, especially for travelling. Nothing will replace ink and paper though, of course! I hope you like yours 🙂

  8. I had mixed feelings when I first got my Kindle (a gift); but now I'm enjoying many things about it, like the ease of downloading stuff (also could be a problem! lol). But it will never REPLACE print books…I see it as a supplement.Enjoy…and have a great week. Here's MY MONDAY MEMES POST

  9. I had a friend send me my first Kindle as a gift and I too felt like I was cheating. I won a Kindle Fire recently and love it but the battery dies to quickly for me and that never happens with a printer book. lol Enjoy!

  10. I know when I first got an e-reader, I felt a bit guilty and almost like the guy in the cartoon, but then I got one and was completely addicted. Now I can read either the Nook or Kindle app on my Nexus and I'm in love. I really enjoy changing the font and the size of the font. In some ways, I've learned to hate paperbacks where sometimes I'm squinting to see the page.

  11. I love that cartoon. It's gangsta! 🙂 Congrats on the new Kindle! Laurel-Rain is right. Don't feel guilty about your Kindle. Just think of it as a supplement and you'll be fine. Have a good week.

  12. Oww have fun with your e-reader. You will find that switching between paper books and your kindle is a possibility ;).Curious what your thoughts on Moloka'i are. I am reluctant to pick that one up. Have a great week!

  13. I have an iPad that I use the Kindle app on and I like it. I really only use it if I am interested in a book that has a long wait at the library or is unavailable. I like it for convenience but its not my preferred way to read. But, now you can loan books to or receive them from anyone with a kindle account. So I could loan you a book really easily if it ever came up. :)I loved Moloka'i, I am interested to hear what you think. That is the island my husband's family is from. 🙂

  14. Ha! I love that cartoon, it made me chuckle. I recently inherited my Mum's old Kindle when she got a shiny new one…not sure how I feel about it. It's sitting on my coffee table looking at me but I haven't used it yet. The first step is allowing it into my home…who knows how long it will take before I feel ready to read a book on it!Mariehttp://www.girlvsbookshelf.blogspot.com

  16. Woohoo I love my kindle but don't worry you'll still buy the 'real' thing, I know I do lol. Love the cover of Moloka'i, it's new to me so off to check it out. Have a great week and happy reading 🙂

  17. A Kindle – whoop! I think you will like it. For me, it was a love-hate thing for several years. My first one was not a touch screen though. Touch screen is essential for a successful experience, imo. Now, after committing to my Fire HD, I don't even like to read paper books at all anymore. I get a little indignant in fact. I look forward to seeing what you think.

  19. I love my kindle and it's great as a supplemental reading tool. It's not going to prevent you from reading books, it'll enable you to borrow from the digital library with ease, read classics, etc. Also. . . I really liked Historia, Historia!!!! My review comes out tomorrow!

  20. Yes! If I don't feel like waiting for a library book I'll be able to borrow the e-version. That is going to be so great :)I really liked it too and I'd love to hear more about your husband's family now. I'm fascinated with that place after reading the book!
