Day #23: Favorite Romance Novel
When I first saw this question I did the whole eye rolling, derisive snorting, I don’t read romance song and dance. I was immediately checked by my 12 year old daughter, Avery, who said, “Uh mom? Isn’t Pride & Prejudice a romance novel?”
Smartypants.
So yes. I do have a favorite romance novel: Pride & Prejudice by Jane Austen
Day #24: A book you later found out the author lied about

A Million Little Pieces by James Frey |
Remember this juicy book scandal? In 2005 Oprah Winfrey announced that A Million Little Pieces would be the next selection for her book club. It didn’t ring true to some folks, an investigation ensued and it turned out James Frey made up big portions of the book. Ouch.
Oprah gave Mr. Frey a piece of her mind and the publisher offered a refund. Scandaliscious!
In 2011 James Frey and Oprah met again to kiss and make up. Sorta.
Ohhhh I remember that scandal but not the book, I will have to look at your links, coolMy favourite romance is Notebook and i'm not a romance reader either. Well I do like a little erotica maybe twice a year.

I forget Pride and Prejudice is a romance, the \”classic\” label is so much more obvious. I hadn't heard of the scandal, so I'll have to read up. Sounds bad to have been untrue about bad things that really did happen.

I also despise romance novels. I actually find it really funny when I am \”tricked\” into reading a novel with a romance, like a classic or something where it's not OMG I love youuuu and can't live without you, but like a real book that happens to have romance inside it.

Yay Avery! Great job, Jennifer. I like a little Nicholas Sparks or Danielle Steel once in a while. In very small doses 🙂
