It’s Monday! What Are You Reading? is hosted by Sheila at Book Journey, check it out and join in the fun! This is a great way to plan out your reading week and see what others are currently reading as well… you never know where that next “must read” book will come from!
It’s a new week once again! I hope you all had a great one. I sure did, mostly because of Dewey’s 24 Hour Read-a-Thon. What an event! Did you join in? If not you should consider doing it the next time around. I believe the next Read-a-Thon will be in April and I can’t wait! Read-a-Thon posts:
Preparation…this is very important! Stacks of books and stacks of snacks!
My main Read-a-Thon post, in which I updated my progress all during the event. Click the link to see which 5.5 books I read! I’m going to have a lot of reviews to do!
The Wrap up post..a fun set of questions and my hopes for the next time around.
Reviews:
By Nightfall by Michael Cunningham
Quick thoughts on The Cutting Season, The Lotus Eaters and Heading Out to WonderfulCurrent and Upcoming Reads:
I just started Why Have Kids by Jessica Valenti. I don’t know what I’ll be picking up next. I still have a stack of books that I picked up for the Read-a-Thon, including The 100 Year Old Man Who Climbed out the Window and Disappeared by Jonas Jonasson and The Last Aloha by Gaellen Quinn.
I hope you guys all had a lovely week of reading!

I want to read that 100 year old man one. I wonder if the one about the 46 year old woman climbing out the window and disappearing, only to reappear in December to claim her college degree would be a big hit?

I am envious of those who are able to do 24 hr ReadAThons!! I know I wouldn't be able to participate since kids + Cooking + cleaning + Sleeping get in the way. GLad you had fun! Thanks for visiting my Monday post.

I enjoyed the read-a-thon even though I only did about 10 hours of it. I like being able to say, \”don't bother me, I'm doing a read-a-thon!), and then order carry-out for dinner.

I'm curious about \”Why Have Kids?\” I like Jessica Valenti and likewise go back and forth about whether or not I want to have kids. Added it to my TBR list!

The 100 Year Old Man sounds interesting, I might check that out! Impressive that you managed 5.5 books. It is Monday afternoon and I am SO tired. Not sure if it's from my lack so sleep last weekend 😉

Well done for the readathon. I've been contemplating the Valenti, it looks a good discussion, though I'm not sure about the premise (and I say that as someone who's pretty set in her decisions). It'd be good to hear your thoughts on it!

I'm almost done with it Crystal. It is very thought provoking! It's sure making me think about my attitudes and prejudices towards mothers/children/fathers etc!

A movie is already being filmed of The 100 Year Old Man! I'm not sure how new the book is but I thought it was pretty recent? It's taking me a while to catch up on sleep too. I might be too old for this shit, lol.

I've never attempted a readathon–I doubt I have the stamina! Why Have Kids sounds like it could be really interesting.

Hope you did better on the read-a-thon than I did. I should have known with it being my birthday weekend and all. I'm not great at 24 hour read-a-thons anyway. Hope you enjoy what you plan to read this week. =O)

You did well with the read-a-thon. If only it had been a few days earlier I might have been able to give it a go. Weekends are a bit hectic for me, and this one definitely was! Maybe next time, I'll just do it on the days I can, close to the time.:)
