BBAW Day 3
What Does Book Blogging Mean To You?
Book blogging means that I finally have a place to talk about books! With people that love books! No more blank stares. No more yawns. No more sarcastic comments,”Uh huh sure I’ll read that book Jen, I’ll get right on that!”

You know I was having a conversation with some friends the other night, some folks who I could actually talk books with, and I was pretty much saying what you wrote here to them. The community is super awesome! I have met such smart, interesting and people who not only read, but they think about what they read!

That picture is excellent and so sadly true. It's okay if people have too many other books to read and are, actually reading, but otherwise… This community is awesome!

Hang on to those friends for dear life Brian! I know there are readers out there (this community proves it) but in my day to day life they seem so few and far between. That really is the best part of book blogging, the people π

Book blogging is an outlet for me to explore and discuss the books I am reading. It is a way to find out about other great books, and it has opened up a world I didn't know existed. I am surprised but pleased to have made some friendships through blogging! I also am at a career change from teacher to who knows, so book blogging is allowing me to do something I enjoy! I'm still very new to book blogging (LoveAtFirstBook.com), having started only in July, so I'm still warming up!

I know exactly what you mean about the blank stares. And I'm continually shoving books at people when they come to my house. Although my sisters love it, I'm fairly sure everybody else I know actively avoids coming round now, so blogging is great and I know that I have blogger friends who really do read the things that I won't stop going on about to them. It's great!

I was starting to go crazy before I had this outlet. My sister is the one who finally said please go find somewhere to talk about books with other nerds π Ok, she didn't put it quite like that, but close!

You are SO right! Don't you just hate it when you're really excited about a book and you are telling someone about it and they just don't get it? My husband did that to me the other night. I was so loving Breed by Chase Novak and, just like you said, blank stare and watching TV and not listening. How did I end up married to a non-reader? Ugh! I'm lucky that the person I hang out with a lot, my mom, loves books too, but she's still not totally gaga over them like us in the book blogging community, where we eat, breathe, sleep books and sweat them out of our pores. ;O)

I always get confused when people say that they don't really read. To me, it's the same as saying, \”Well, you know, I'm not really big on this breathing thing…\”It's great to know that we have all of these people to share our favorite books with. Hooray book bloggers! π

Love this post! That first picture pretty much summed up my life before blogging, as I'd usually get black stares as I raved about a book I'd just read. So glad I found this community! It's my Happy Place too! π
