Hosted by Crazy for Books!
This weeks question:
When a book goes “viral” (Hunger Games, Fifty Shades, Twilight), do you rush out to read it like everyone else, even if it’s not in your typical genre?
This is way too easy to answer: Nope.
Ha ha, insightful hmm? Honestly though, I generally don’t buy into the hype about a book that I’d normally have zero interest in reading. I sometimes do eventually get around to a viral book if it falls into a category of something I’d read even if it wasn’t hyped up.

I had a sad little visit to the library the other day. None of my requested books were in and the shelves of new fiction and nonfiction were nearly empty. I ended up digging back in the stacks which I almost never do. I found two books, neither of which really called out my name but I was feeling a bit desperate!
I’ve already decided that I’m done with The Irish Princess I made it about half way and just didn’t enjoy it one bit. The dialogue is awful and the main character is completely unbelievable to me. I would really like to learn more about this woman and that time period in Ireland, but I’ll have to seek out that knowledge in a different book.
I don’t even know if I’ll read People of the Whale. I don’t know why exactly. I think I’m being a little bit of a spoiled reader who almost never has to hunt for books that way and People of the Whale is getting the brunt of my bummer-of-a-library-trip feelings!
So, that was a bust. But there is good news too! I got an email this morning that some of my requested books are ready for pick-up, yes! These are the books patiently waiting for me:
My Best Friend’s Girl by Dorothy Koomson
Visit Sunny Chernobyl and Other Adventures in the World’s Most Polluted Places by Andrew Blackwell
I have much higher hopes for all three of those.
Happy reading this week, have a great weekend too!
