It’s Monday! What are you reading? 10/22/12

It’s Monday! What Are You Reading? is hosted by Sheila at Book Journey, check it out and join in the fun! This is a great way to plan out your reading week and see what others are currently reading as well… you never know where that next “must read” book will come from!

Happy Monday! I hope you had a fantastic week! It was a week of many reviews here on The Relentless Reader, yay!

Reviews:
Quick Thoughts on the books I read for the 24 Hour Read-a-Thon

The Forgetting Tree by Tatjana Soli

The Empty Family by Colm Tóibín

Why Have Kids by Jessica Valenti

The 100 Year Old Man Who Climbed Out of the Window and Disappeared by Jonas Jonasson This was so stinking good! The next two books I started were duds in comparison and ended up being DNFs for me!

Currently Reading:

The Boy in the Suitcase by Lene Kaaberol and Agnette Friis

Upcoming Reads:

I have a stack of library books to get through. I’m excited about all of them though so it’s certainly no hardship! I love my library, but I’m going to have to ban myself from requesting books so often. I’m feeling a bit overwhelmed with all of the books in my house at this time and I have to get a grip! Here’s what I have coming up next:

The Uncommon Reader by Alan Bennett

Charlotte and Emily : a novel of the Brontës by Jude Morgan

Midnight in Peking by Paul French

Never fall down : a boy soldier’s story of survival by Patricia McCormick

Have a jolly week! Cheerio!

It’s a new week once again! I hope you all had a great one. I sure did, mostly because of Dewey’s 24 Hour Read-a-Thon. What an event! Did you join in? If not you should consider doing it the next time around. I believe the next Read-a-Thon will be in April and I can’t wait!

Read-a-Thon posts:
Preparation…this is very important! Stacks of books and stacks of snacks!

My main Read-a-Thon post, in which I updated my progress all during the event. Click the link to see which 5.5 books I read! I’m going to have a lot of reviews to do!

The Wrap up post..a fun set of questions and my hopes for the next time around.

Current and Upcoming Reads:
I just started Why Have Kids by Jessica Valenti. I don’t know what I’ll be picking up next. I still have a stack of books that I picked up for the Read-a-Thon, including The 100 Year Old Man Who Climbed out the Window and Disappeared by Jonas Jonasson and The Last Aloha by Gaellen Quinn.

I hope you guys all had a lovely week of reading!
