Monthly Wrap Up: September 2014

I haven’t done a monthly wrap-up in…well months! I thought I’d give it a go for September since I actually read more than 2 books. I had an abysmal summer of reading. Abysmal I tell you.

Here’s what I downloaded into my brain during the lovely month of September:

The Story Hour by Thrity Umrigar

100 Days of Real Food by Lisa Leake

Five Days Left by Julie Lawson Timmer

The House We Grew Up In by Lisa Jewell

Fun Home by Alison Bechdel

So We Read On by Maureen Corrigan

The Haunting of Hill House by Shirley Jackson

September was a decent month. Fun Home was probably my favorite of the month. I learned a lot from So We Read On, and The Haunting of Hill House was a good way to start off the spooky fall reading season.

I’m beginning to feel inspired and excited by books again after what felt like a long and lame summer. Hallelujah! It’s this glorious season. Thank goodness for autumn.

What was your favorite book in September?

Around the Blogosphere:

You must have a look at April’s (The Steadfast Reader) Fan Fiction Friday. I don’t want to give anything away so I’ll just say that it involves Harry Potter and miracles.

In My Neck of the Woods:

We celebrated the best season of the year at our local Fall Fest.  Weenie dog races, mini-donuts, and mums. What could be better?

Even though we live in a tiny town with nary a Starbucks in sight, I picked up a pumpkin latte at a local coffee joint… It was dreamy.

What have you been up to? Are you as thrilled with this glorious season as I am? What are you reading? I’d love to know!
