The Relentless Weekly Wrap -Up 12/21/2015

I usually post these updates on Sunday but I was a busy bee yesterday! I’ll combine my weekly wrap-up with my regularly scheduled Monday post. Here’s what I’ve been up to:

Cooking:
It’s been all about prepping for Christmas around here. I’ve been baking cookies, making bonbons, and all manner of other healthy treats.

Reading:
I’m in the middle of A Boy Called Christmas. I’ve been too busy to get much reading done the past few days. I don’t like that feeling. I’m really hoping to finish this holiday read before the holidays are over!

After I finish my current book it’ll be time to pick the first book of 2016. Doesn’t that sound bonkers? Isn’t it still 1998? Gah.

I’d like to be Captain Janeway when I grow up.

Watching:
Last night I finished my re-watch of Star Trek Voyager. I have other television show irons in the fire (The KnickThe Affair, etc.) but that one was my number one binge lately. I’ll miss it! It’s time to move on to Enterprise. #Nervous

Wearing:
My groovy new hat from the latest Book Riot box. I was thisclose to cancelling my Book Riot Quarterly subscription. But this hat has made me rethink that.

Byeeeeeee!

I hope you all had a grand week and I hope the next is even better! Let me know what you’ve been up to in the comments below. What are you reading? Are you watching anything amazing? Do you have any fabulous foods to tell me about?

It’s Monday! What are you reading? 12/14/15

Hosted by The Book Date

It’s already Monday? Are weekends slipping by faster than usual or is there a time suck that happens right before the holidays? Either way, Monday is here!

Here’s whats been happening in my neck of the woods:

Read:

This week I read The Secret Chord by Geraldine Brooks and Liar, Temptress, Soldier, Spy by Karen Abbott. (You can see my review of The Secret Chord here.)

Currently Reading:

It was time for something seasonal so I ordered myself a copy of A Boy Called Christmas by Matt Haig. I started reading it last night and promptly gobbled up around half. I’d say it’s aimed at middle grades ( I’m middle graded at heart!). It’s plucking at the heartstrings and making me laugh and making me feel the spirit. That’s a tall order!

Upcoming:

I’m not sure! Now that I’m finally back in the reading saddle there are around 8,000 books vying for my attention. We’ll see what kind of mood I’m in when it’s time to grab one off of them off the shelf.

What have you been reading this week?
