The Relentless Weekly Wrap-Up 06/08/14

On the Blog:

Here are the books that belong in your beach bag this summer!

Currently Reading:

The Map Thief by Michael Blanding

Upcoming:

That Night by Chevy Stevens

Around the Blogosphere:

Looking for gift ideas for the dads in your life? (Father’s Day is soon!) Check out Jennifer’s recommendations on Book-alicious Mama.

Some of my nearest and dearest were able to attend BEA this year. Shannon, from River City Reading, has written up some fantastic posts about her time there. This one, about the off-beat books she discovered there, is particularly interesting.

Other Stuff:

I had a lousy 6 day period. My sweet and silly George passed away suddenly. I keep telling myself that even if he only lived to be 3, he had the best life. He was funny and he was loving and he was loved in return more than I can say. I’ll miss “reading” with you, pal.

Less than a week later I was in a car accident. Blerg. I had some neck pain but ended up being fine. The same can’t be said for my car. It was totaled. Now I have to car shop. GROSS.

Here’s hoping that the next week is better than the last. It has to be!

Thanks so much for visiting me here. I hope you have a great week! What’s happening in your neck of the woods? Let me know by leaving a comment.

  3. Jennifer, what an awful week for you! I'm so sorry to hear about George; I know you must miss him terribly. And while I'm very glad you weren't hurt worse, I'm sure the accident shook you up. I hope you're able to replace your car quickly, and that you feel better soon. And that the right kitty comes into your life at the right time, when you're ready. Here's hoping that the coming week brings only good things your way!

  4. Oh, I am so sorry! Cats are members of the family, and losing them is painful. It must have been terrible to recover from a car accident while dealing with losing George. I'm glad that your neck pain is gone, though. Good luck with the car shopping.
