I'm preparing my list too, for the first time, how exciting!!!But Jennifer, I'm worried because you are cheating a little: you have already read A tree grows in Brooklyn (number 5)!!:http://therelentlessreader.blogspot.com.es/2013/02/a-tree-grows-in-brooklyn-by-betty-smith.html

Ooh ooh! I may spin, too. Just for the hell of it and motivation.

I like that it forces me (in a nice way) to read something from my CC list 🙂

I haven't participated before, but I know I need to read some more classics. Perhaps I should give it a try!

I enjoyed the Spin enormously last time around, so taking part this time too. I see we both have Bleak House in the list – and you also have Les Miserables – ouch! 🙂

It's a great way to be motivated to read those classics you've always meant to get to 🙂

Ditto, I love the spin! I have Les Mis on my shelf. It's been sitting there taunting me! I'm dreading/hoping that it will be my spin pick, lol.

thanks for letting me know about the Spin, I'd like to participate this time! Good luck, glad that Little Women eeked it's way back into your list. 🙂 Gotta get my list together. Handmaid's Tale, Frankenstein and Robinson Crusoe are on my overall list too. I look forward to reading those three.

Sounds exciting! I'm going to have to think about this one. I've got a bunch of review copies to make my way through, so I'm not sure I can take the time, but it would certainly be fun and challenging. I like your list; some of them would be on mine, too. I checked out the Classics Club and was relieved to see that re-reads are permitted (thank goodness, as there are books and plays I read years ago that I would love to read again.) So I may give this a try.

LOL, I need to be forced. I admit it.

Is this where you make a list and they pick a number and that's which one you have to read?

You've got some good ones on your list! I just published mine, too! Here's my Classics Spin! I actually kept my exact list and then just changed out the one I read for last time! And just FYI, i have been listening to Anna Karenina for FOREVER! It's sooooooo long!

I'm doing this spin for sure! Finalizing my list right now. Only putting one on it that I'm really dreading reading–On the Good Life by Cicero–but I ultimately want to read it, so it's a win-win, right?

It's definitely a win-win!

I have read a few of these, but many moons ago. I really need to read more classics. 😦 I just read My Antonia though, around the time I was reading all that Goolrick. And I am about to reread The Wind in the Willows, it is the perfect time of year. You should take your kids on a picnic near a riverbank, and start reading it together. :)Good luck on your spin! Maybe I will look it up and try it out, to give myself a bit of a kick in the pants to get reading classics more frequently. 🙂

Yes, I'm going to spin again! I'll also be using my original list, with just a couple of modifications. This is great motivation.

Another great list! Les Miserables, 1984, The Handmaid's Tale, Wuthering Heights – Oh. So. Good! I haven't read My Antonia, yet, but Willa Cather is one of my favorite writers. I also really liked Robinson Crusoe much more than I expected to… and One Flew Over the Cuckoo's nest is great! I'm hoping some people read it for the \”Beats of Summer\” event next month. I think you're going to be okay regardless of which number pops-up – great list! Good luck!

Thanks Adam 🙂 I'm almost hoping that Les Mis is picked just so I'm forced to get to it! I wouldn't say that I'm dreading it, I only know it will be an investment of time!

Great list! I was surprised at how easily I was able to delve into Anna Karenina. I think it sounds much more intimidating than it is. Also- My Antonia is absolutely beautiful. I need to re-read it soon. This list reminds me that there are many more classics that I need to read.Rebecca @ The Key to the Gate

Whew! You have some bricks on there. Good ones, though. I also have 1984 and My Antonia on my spin list. I loved Catch-22 and One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest when I read them as a teen. I really need to read them again. I hope you enjoy whichever book you end up with!
