The Relentless Weekly Wrap-Up 01/24/2016

Happy Sunday, everyone! I hope you’ve had a spectacular week. Here’s what I’ve been up to:
Blogging:
Ha ha nope.
Cooking:
I have a beautiful caramel apple french toast casserole in the oven as I type this. I hope it’s as tasty as it sounds!
Meow.
Reading:
My lack of focus is unstoppable! I managed to read Giant Days (A+, highly recommended!) and a few pages of Hamilton. That’s it.

Hi, I’m Oliver. I’m also ridiculously cute.
Watching:
Star Trek, always. But you don’t want to hear me nerd out about that every single week! We’ve been devouring Arrow on Netflix. Oooh, it’s gooooood. I hope to talk my husband into watching The Flash next.
Healthing:
(That’s a new word, look it up.) I’ve started keeping track of my eating and exercise with My Fitness Pal. I’ve made a real commitment to pedaling on my new stationary bike every day. It’s fun, believe it or not! (I wonder how many calories are in the french toast casserole that I’m about to devour, ha ha.)
In Conclusion:
It was a good one, folks. I hope you can say the same. Let me know what you’ve been up to. What have you been reading, eating, watching? Are you are buried in snow? Tell me everything!

  1. Not sure what kind of bike you have–recumbent or spinning–but I used to love going to the gym to read while pedaling (harder on a spinning bike). Ha! And just saw that Lindsey said the same thing. Great minds. 😉 And thanks for the recipe link. Looks delicious!

  2. Hey there!:)I'm commenting for a first time, sooo hello.I'm finishing Suicide Notes by Michael Thomas Ford and it's okay. My rating changed throughout the book from almost 5 stars to 2, and now to about 3. It had a potential, but tangled in something weird closer to the end. I'm still forming my final opinion. Also I'm about a halfway through the 5th wave by Rick Yancey, which is…okay as well. Well, a lil' better, but still okay. Also reading stories from The Shell Collector by Anthony Doerr and Wild Swan by Michael Cunningham. Enjoying the first one more.:)Hope your week will be great. Happy reading!

  3. Heather has been on my case to read Giant Days, and I completely agree that I need to. That french toast casserole sounds amazing. Anything with caramel apples involved. ❤

  4. I just started using MyFitnessPal too! And I am digging it! I thrive on structure, so keeping everything I eat logged in a food diary is definitely keeping me on the straight and narrow. I declined a second helping of some reeeeeeally good gumbo this evening, to ensure that I would be attaining my food goals. :p

  5. Looove MyFitnessPal. I was using it with great success several years ago and I just started using it again. I'm finding it really tough to be consistent with it, which is frustrating, but that's all on me.

  6. I'm not sure whether I should thank you for the link to that amazing caramel apple casserole, but I'll say thanks, anyway. 🙂 We were only snowed in for a short while, which is the perfect amount for me; I was able to \”health\” on Saturday morning (10 mile run), dodging icy spots, and then I spent the rest of the weekend eating everything, watching football (GO BRONCOS!!) and reading. Great job with your healthing and thank you for the reminder on Arrow; I keep saying I'm going to start it on treadmill days and I haven't!

  7. I do love a good recumbent bike for reading. I always feel like that is cheating though. Perhaps if that were my go-to piece of equipment when at the gym, I would actually go more often? Food for thought. MFP is fun, but I do admit to cheating. Most of the time, I log in just to keep my streak alive. I need to get better about actually logging what food I eat. Maybe then I will see my own healthing improve.

  8. I'll be honest: I almost always watch something on TV or Netflix while I'm pedaling 😉 I've been a good little soldier about MFP…so far. I'm terrible about forming new habits but I'm giving this my best shot!

  9. What do you mean you're not blogging? If it's once a week, that's still blogging, lady :P. But I can relate to the lack of focus. I've only read two books this month and if I'm lucky, I'll get to a third this weekend. Not buried in snow…now, but earlier when was in Baltimore for the weekend. My dad, who had surgery and a successful one, are home now, though and it's all good. Eating? Wings later. Watching? Later today or tomrrow or this weekend, Sicario. Heard it was good, but we'll see.
