I thoroughly enjoyed The Oregon Trail by Rinker Buck. If the only thing you remember about the trail is the computer game you played in middle school you need to get your hands on a copy of this book. Immediately.
Of course I clambered aboard the bandwagon and read Harper Lee’s Go Set a Watchman. I’m not ashamed. I don’t regret it. It made me think, it made me angry, and it made me cry. What more can you really ask for?
I read A Man Called Ove yesterday. What an absolute gem of a book. Was I the last person in the world to read it? I’ll definitely be looking forward to reading Backman’s sophomore effort: My Grandmother Asked Me to Tell You I’m Sorry.
Currently Reading/Upcoming:
I am suffering from a severe case of too-many-books-to-choose-from-itis. You may have run into it yourself at some point in your reading life? I’m sure you have. I think that a shelf organizing and purging session would do me a world of good. Now to make time to do so…
Until then I can only say that I have no idea what I’ll be reading next. I’m eyeing up a number of things. Maybe Between the World and Me? The Beautiful Bureaucrat is also in the running. Time will tell.
As of now I’m getting ready to head to the beach with my family and won’t have to make the book decision until later. Have a great week, everyone! Tell me what you’re reading!

Must find time for A Man Called Ove! Picked it up a couple months ago as a kindle daily deal. The Oregon Trail sounds great, too. My kids were obsessed with that game!

I've heard great things about A Man Called Ove….hopefully I'll be able to make some time to read it. And – I'll be interested to hear your thoughts about Watchman…I'm almost done with it.

Oh, I finished Ove this weekend as well and I *adored* it. I laughed, I cried, I everything-in-betweened. (That's totally a thing, right?) SO GOOD. One of my book clubs is doing his new book next month, so I'm alternately excited/terrified that it won't be as good as Ove.

The Oregon Trail was a computer game?!I am half way through Atlas Shrugged! yay me.And need to pick up something else but am wavering. Should it be The Elegance of the Hedgehog? (which is on my shelf) or something else entirely… I think it should be something light and fluffy to balance out the pounding of philosophy that Rand is dishing out. Maybe I should buy Oregon Trail! HmmmmI often suffer from that itis you speak of. Too-many-books-itis, was that it?

I just bought Ove a couple days ago and am excited to read it soon! I enjoyed Watchman despite its imperfections and the rubbish some people are saying about it.As for your next read, I vote Between the World and Me. I finished it last night, and damn. It needs to be read. I'll leave it at that for now. I'd love to hear your thoughts once you read it. 🙂

Enjoy the beach! We're headed out in about 14 days (but who's counting?) to the beach ourselves! I'm in the same boat with Go Set a Watchman. It definitely infuriated and touched me. Trying to write a review right now. Try being the operative word.

I, too, suffer from too-many-books-to-choose-from-itis. It's a debilitating (to my wallet) syndrome. You aren't the last to read A Man Called Ove…that would be me. I've had it on my eReader for a while and still haven't picked it up. I'm starting GSaW later this week and am excited about finally starting it.

I just finished \”A Memory of Violets,\” and I have a stack of books from which to choose and (lucky me!) four days away to devour most of them. Think I'm going to go with \”Summer of Good Intentions\” by Wendy Francis next.

I reallllllly enjoyed TBB – it made me feel all scared, weird, and uncomfortable… I guess that doesn't sounds like exactly a good thing, but in a way it was!

I'm so envious of your beach time.We're having one of the coldest winter's in about 50 yrs in Sydney & all I can do is dream about lying on a beautiful warm beach *sighHave fun and happy reading 🙂

There's all of the Ove love right now, how great! I hope you get to it soon. 😀 I enjoyed Watchman too. Now that I'm done with it I *still* don't want to read any of the think pieces or reviews of it. Unless they are from my trusted bookish pals, of course. Ah yes, I'll definitely be reading Between the World and Me. Next? Maybe!
