Dewey’s 24 Hour Read-a-Thon October 2014

Welcome to my master post for all things Read-a-Thon!
This is where I’ll be posting updates (mini challenges, etc.) throughout the day. I hope you’ll also hang out with me on Twitter and Instagram

I get SO excited about this event!
The food!
The drinks!
Most importantly? THE BOOKS!
Can you tell that I dig Stephen Colbert?
First things first! Here’s are my answers to the Opening Meme:
Opening Meme:
1) What fine part of the world are you reading from today?
I’m in northern Wisconsin, or as I sometimes call it: Practically Canada.
2) Which book in your stack are you most looking forward to?
It’s a tie between American Born Chinese by Gene Luen Yang and Speak by Laurie Halse Anderson. (You can see my entire stack here!)
3) Which snack are you most looking forward to?
I’m really looking forward to the Sleepin’ In Omelette that’s in my oven right now. I’ve never made it before and my fingers are crossed. (Here are the recipes for all of the yummy foods I’m preparing today!)
4) Tell us a little something about yourself!
My youngest daughter, and her pals, say that I act very much like Linda from Bob’s Burgers. That’s all you really need to know. (I’ve decided to take it as a compliment.)
5) If you participated in the last read-a-thon, what’s one thing you’ll do different today? If this is your first read-a-thon, what are you most looking forward to?
This time I’m really upping my food game.  Also, I’m co-hosting for the first time! Look for me on the main Dewey’s page and on Twitter during hours 11 and 12.
Have a fantastic day!

Hour 10 Update:

During previous Readathons I would update this page every few hours. Here we are, nearly half way through, and I’m doing it for the first time! What’s up with that? I blame Twitter & Instagram. I spend quite a bit of time updating my reading stats and sharing food pictures and don’t really see the need to come back to the ol’ blog for updating purposes. (Let’s see if I remember this next time and plan accordingly.)

So far I’ve gotten through 2 books:

I’m about half way through my 3rd book and hope to report back here about that later. For now, I’m headed back to social media to do some cheering! Gooooo #TeamAusten!
