I haven’t done a monthly wrap-up in…well months! I thought I’d give it a go for September since I actually read more than 2 books. I had an abysmal summer of reading. Abysmal I tell you.

September was a decent month. Fun Home was probably my favorite of the month. I learned a lot from So We Read On, and The Haunting of Hill House was a good way to start off the spooky fall reading season.
I’m beginning to feel inspired and excited by books again after what felt like a long and lame summer. Hallelujah! It’s this glorious season. Thank goodness for autumn.

I've read two of those: The Story Hour and The Haunting of Hill House (but I think I read The Story Hour in August – will have to look). Both were good reads. Hill House creeped me out but not enough to keep me from finishing it at night. 🙂

I've heard great things about 5 Days Left! The Gatsby book intrigues me, but Shannon at River City Reading said the first half is a bit slow, so not sure if I'll read that one.

I love The Haunting of Hill House! Cannot believe it's Oct already. A year ago this month we were frantically packing in Illinois to be cleared out of the house near the end of the month. My favorite read last month was Ordinary Grace by William Kent Krueger.

Right?? Me too 😀 Hill House was definitely creepy. It wasn't as OBVIOUS as some of the more modern spooky tales but I liked that. You had to work for it a little bit.

It made me so emotional! Gah. (I like that though, I'm a glutton for punishment, lol) Shannon and I have talked about the book and have agreed to disagree, ha!

It really was. I like when I have such vastly different reads in a month. My reading certainly doesn't feel stale that way 😀

Oh, it was the worst, lol. I feel like I might never reach the heights of those crazy months when I'd read 15-18 books, but I'll take 7 and be happy about it 😀

It was a pretty good one 😀 Now, I'm hoping to really kick some butt in October! Honestly, I don't care if I only read 2 books. I just want those 2 books to be AMAZING dammit. 😉
