The Relentless Bi-Weekly Wrap-Up 03/30/14

On the Blog:

A review of A Place at the Table by Susan Rebecca White

Pics from my Harry Potter vacation! (Soooo fun!)

Read:

The Storied Life of A.J. Fikry by Gabrielle Zevin

Justice League Vol. 1 Origin by Geoff Johns

The Frangipani Hotel by Violet Kupersmith

I abandoned American Saint by Joan Barthel. I really think it was just bad timing. I’m in some sort of slow reading phase right now. I needed something a bit more lively and American Saint suffered because of it.

Currently Reading:

Below Stairs by Margaret Powell

Upcoming:

I’m drowning in ARCs! I have no idea what I’ll read next. I’m very much into reading based on my mood this year. It’s kinda awesome.

Other Business:

I wanted to participate in the Bloggiesta but I’ve been too stinking busy this weekend. Bah. Are you guys and gals getting a bunch of stuff done on your blogs? Maybe I’ll be able to unofficially make some headway on my constant to-do list?

This Week in the Blogosphere:

Something new in my updates! We’ll see how it goes

Check out some fab nonfiction recommendations from Kim at Sophisticated Dorkiness.

  1. That is a stack my dear! I don't feel like mine looks quite so crazy 🙂 I need to get myself a copy of California, the more I hear about that book, the more desperate I am to read it…I just need to get through the rest of these! I'm totally mood reading lately, too, though and I'm loving it.

  2. 'The Classic Kitchen Maid's Memoir That Inspired Upstairs, Downstairs and Downton Abbey' – I'm intrigued! I look forward to your thoughts on that one. I see you aren't at a loss as to what to read next – that's some stack of ARC's! 🙂Bits & Bobs

  3. I haven't even had a chance to get my sticky notes on there, as you can see! California was sent to me accidentally instead of Frog Music, lol. (She ended up sending Frog Music too, after we figured it out.)

  4. So far it's good. She's got a funny way about her, especially when comparing modern times to those that came before. (We wouldn't get away with that now…that sort of thing, very funny) It's hilarious because the book came out in '68 so the \”modern times\” aren't quite modern now 😉

  5. Me too. I visited a home in Scotland that they use for tours. The kitchen was amazing, and they had those bells that the master would ring so the \”kitchen help\” would know where that particular person was. :)It was VERY authentic and I believe from the actual home way back when. :)ENJOY!!
