The Relentless Weekly Wrap-Up 09/29/13

Reviews:

The Wedding Gift by Marlen Suyapa Bodden

The Giver by Lois Lowry (Reviewed by my 13 year old daughter) I’m just a little proud:

Read:

On Paper by Nicholas A. Basbanes

The Signature of All Things by Elizabeth Gilbert

The Giver by Lois Lowry

Currently Reading:

Don’t Hurry Me Down to Hades by Susannah J. Ural

Upcoming:

Elizabeth of York by Alison Weir
Other than that? It might be time to start requesting books from the library again! I’ve been such a good little reader. I’ve cleared a lot of spaces on my shelves and I’ve cut down on review commitments. I’m very much looking forward to reading WHAT I want. Hooray!

Bloggish/Bookish Business:

I have a cold.

I’m a giant baby when I’m sick. Sniff sniff.

I hope you guys have a fab week! Thanks a million for stopping by here, you rule.

  1. I loved reading the Giver and your daughter gave a great review of it. I have The Signature of All Things on my wishlist. I just got The Wedding Gift this week and haven't read it yet, but can't wait. Thanks for sharing.

  2. So proud of you with clearing your shelves! I've totally been in the same boat with no review commitments, and I'm pretty much done with mine, too. It feels really nice. I'm SO looking forward to December, which I've cleared out as my no review copies reading month.

  3. Oh, I'm a total baby when I'm sick too. I take advantage of it while I can, I'm sure I won't always be able to \”indulge\” by spending all day in bed. Feel better!

  4. Awww, I hope you get over your cold! I'm a big wuss when I'm sick too. (And really cranky, or so I hear.)What did you think of the new Elizabeth Gilbert book?

  5. I'm so sorry you're sick, I am a huge baby when I'm sick…ugh. I never seem to get to the older books I've bought or been sent. E galleys get me in much trouble, because I have a finite time to read them…grrr. Enjoy reading what you want.

  6. Aw, sorry about the cold. Hope you get over it quickly. Love the little whatchacallit from Ferris Beuller. I need to put that Elizabeth Gilbert book on my wish list. Saw your comment about it being \”rich\” on Goodreads and between that word and the description, I'm sold.

  7. Well done, Young Relentless Reader! I remember when my son read The Giver. He too wanted to talk to someone about it. He pressed it into my hands and told me I had to read it 'now'.Senior Relentless Reader: Did you see Kevin Smith's reaction when his daughter performed with her rock band? Funny, but slightly more than PG-13 rated!

  8. I have a cold too 😦 Hope you feel better soon! I think it's awesome you had your daughter write a review–what a great way to get her involved with literature! Elizabeth of York sounds great–I've read lots about the Henry VIII and Elizabeth I but never about Elizabeth of York!

  9. Boo! I hope you feel better soon! Those kids are handy for helping a sick mama, you know. Send them out to bring you back some tea, ice cream, and a big stack of library books! 🙂

  10. Aw, I hope you feel better soon! I'm a little bit buried under books I've agreed to review at the moment (it might be silly that I'm just realizing this, but it's so much easier to get approved for non-fiction ARC's than YA!), but hopefully I'll be a good blogger this month and eliminate that pile 🙂
