The Classics Spin!

Here’s the scoop: We are to list 20 books from our Classics Club List that we have yet to read. (That’s easy, I have WAY more than 20 left to read!)
The fine folks at The Classics Club will give us a number and we’re to read the corresponding book from our list. Easy-peasy right?
My list:
  1. Anna Karenina by Leo Tolstoy
  2. Bury My Heart at Wounded Knee by Dee Brown
  3. One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest by Ken Kesey
  4. Bleak House by Charles Dickens
  5. A Tree Grows in Brooklyn by Betty Smith
  6. Robinson Crusoe by Daniel Defoe
  7. Treasure Island by Robert Louis Stevenson
  8. Les Miserables by Victor Hugo
  9. Frankenstein by Mary Shelley
  10. Nineteen Eighty-Four by George Orwell
  11. The Wind in the Willows by Kenneth Grahame
  12. Catch 22 by Joseph Heller
  13. My Antonia by Willa Cather
  14. Dangerous Liaisons by Pierre Choderlos De Laclos
  15. The Portrait of a Lady by Henry James
  16. Watership Down by Richard Adams
  17. Wuthering Heights by Emily Bronte
  18. The Great Gatsby by F. Scott Fitzgerald
  19. The Call of the Wild by Jack London
  20. Tess of the D’Ubervilles by Thomas Hardy

My list is a combo of books I can’t wait to read and books I’m intimidated by.

Except that I am..a little.
Wish me luck!

  1. Soo many good books in your list! I've read six and liked them all a great deal. And I too have \”Bleak House\” in the spin list (and am a little scared of that, but not much). I wish you luck 🙂

  2. That's a goodlooking mix…I'm impressed by some of the chunksters. I've deliberately kept my choices below 500 pages…400 if possible! I can't see me tackle anything bigger than that now… :-/All the best!…I'll pop in to see what you got tomorrow after the number is announced. 😀

  3. You've got some great reads on your list. I've only actually read one off of it, The Great Gatsby (which really wasn't as 'good' as I expected it to be). There are a number of classics that I hope to get round too as well. Good luck!

  5. I've read and loved quite a few of your books (Anna, Bleak House, Tess, Gatsby, Watership Down, Dangerous Liaisons) and also a couple that I dislike intensely (Wuthering Heights and Catch 22)….so good luck, I hope you dont get no.s 12 & 17 🙂

  6. Good luck!!I've read a lot of them and I liked them very much, so don't be scared!!At least you don't have The Quijote in your list, like Rebecca 😉 So there will be no problem, for sure!!!

  8. Bleak House! When you're done you should watch the miniseries if you haven't seen it! Pretty much the best thing ever!Good luck getting through this hefty list!I've read almost half of these, and most of those were great ones. You're in for a real treat with Catch-22! Be prepared for the mood change at the halfway point, though. It gets MUCH darker, because he sold the first half first, and then could make it more depressing once it sold.

  9. I haven't seen that mini-series! I'll look for it after I read the book for sure!I don't know how in the world I've lived my whole life without reading Catch-22. I didn't know that little tidbit about the book, thanks! You learn something new every day 🙂
