I tried How To Be a Woman by Caitlin Moran. Nope. It was a DNF for this reader. I’m no prude but it read as if it was meant to be shocking and dirty. It came off crass. I wanted to like it. Ah well!
I may review the above books, or maybe not! I can do what I want, neener neener boo boo!

The Round House sounds like a book I would love. I will have to check it out.I read How to be a Woman – I really liked it, but you are right, it was very vulgar! I was kind of shocked at first. Lol. And I thought it became kind of boring near the end too, oddly enough.

I'm still thinking on the Moran. Wanted to read it when it was released but the reviews (on blogs at least, am trusting those much more) have made me hesitate. Her column in The Times is often good, but there's an element there that sometimes is a bit much. Same as the other commenters, I'm looking forward to what you thought of The Richest Woman.

Brain on Fire sounds so scary but intriguing too. It gives you hope to know that discoveries and cures continue to be found in medical science.:)

I enjoy Lisa Genova's novels. Love Anthony wasn't my favorite but it was still a decent read :)You'll learn NOTHING about being organized from this girl, lol!

I bet you would like The Round House, you'll have to let me know if you pick it up!How to be a Woman..sigh. I really did want to like it. I'd heard it compared to Tina Fey's Bossy Pants. Not even close.

Still Alice was my very favorite of hers. That book has stuck with me. You can tell she does a ton of research, love that!

I recently read Crazy Enough by Storm Large. That was full of sex, drugs, rock & roll..and more sex. That didn't perturb me in the least because it felt honest and true. The Moran, on the other hand..I don't know. It seemed shocking for the sake of being shocking. It was like she tried to put every dirty word ever printed into one sentence. Blah.

The Richest Woman sounds like a fascinating read. Can I admit that I have never heard of Hetty Green? I feel like reading non-fiction fills in all of these gaps in my knowledge!
