It’s Monday! What Are You Reading? 9/10/12

It’s Monday already?! Whew, this week zipped by at a crazy pace.
Read and Reviewed:
(Click on the link to see what I thought)
Only 2 mini reviews this week. My excuse? I’m in the middle of a giant chunkster of a book right now.

Other Blogging Bits:
(A semi-regular feature in which I share books that I loved before I was a blogger)

I joined in the RIP event hosted by Stainless Steel Droppings AND The Literary Others: An LGBT Reading Event hosted by Roof Beam Reader.

I posted some fun Lit Bits (I love these!) and I stumbled upon a fantastic new blogging community for Midwestern book bloggers!

Current and Upcoming Reads:

I’m in the very middle of Gone With the Wind for the read along at Fanda ClassicLit. I’m enjoying every sentence. It’s been so long since I first read this and I think I like it even more this time around.
Next up are two library books:
It’s my favorite time of year. It’s a bit chilly out, the leaves are starting to change and this girl looooves her some jeans and sweatshirts.
Leaf Jam on The Pike River

Have a great week everyone! Thanks so much for stopping by my little corner of the book blogging world, I appreciate it more than you know!

  1. I hope you do get to it one day Bonnie, it's so good! (The first time I read it I was blown away and it was NOTHING like what I expected it to be) I think it would be a great cozy winter read. Thanks for visiting and commenting 🙂

  2. I will have to read In the Garden of Beasts – I loved Devil in the White City but Thunderstruck creeped me out really badly!I just checked and Mudbound is available through digital download at my library, I am going to have to read it. I am such a southern history buff. First They Killed My Father was so personal and moving, very well done.

  3. The weather is great right now! The windows are all open, I had my first pumpkin flavored drink of the fall, and burned a pumpkin candle. Happy sigh…Mudbound sounds great. I am excited to see what you think.

  4. I wish I had recorded my thoughts about GWTW when I read it the first time. (Around a decade ago) I know I loved it but I think I have a new appreciation for it now that I'm a bit older ;)Mudbound! I love hearing from all of you how much you enjoyed it. I look forward to it even more now!

  5. So totally jealous of the Gone With the Wind read along! It's been about 18 years since I read it!! I read Scarlett, but I think there was another that I haven't gotten to, Rhett Butler's Women or something. Definitely would be some awesome comfort reading there! Enjoy your week, and yes I am totally digging that evil word verification graphic!! SO annoying it is!!! Thanks for visiting my Monday post.

  6. I'm actually going to start \”Gone with the Wind\” in the very near future! I wish I knew about this Read-A-Long, but I will add it to my list so I can start with the next book. And BTW, I can post now! Thanks for adding the name/url link!!!

  7. Today totally felt like autumn where I am! It was awesome. Perfect reading weather. I'm curious about reading In the Garden of Beasts. And I hear ya on the mini-reviews when you're in a huge book–sometimes the doorstoppers just take over 🙂

  8. I haven't read Gone with the Wind. I really want to read it but the sheer length of it is giving me second thoughts. Haha. I've seen the movie though.

  12. We've just come out of the beach and picnic season here. I'll miss parts of it but I'm not a fan of hot weather so I always look forward to cooler temps and pretty leaves 🙂 I've gotten a good start into Mudbound and it's a great read so far!
